* This cultus was abandoned by the postconciliar Church following a communiqué from the Congregation of Rites dated 4 May 1965 addressed to Archbishop Alessandro Maria Gottardi of Trent on the obligation of the prudent removal [prudente rimozione] of the cult of Simone of Trent in accordance with can. 1284 (CIC 1917). In response, Archbishop Gottardi issued on 28 October 1965 a notification addressed to the faithful of the Archdiocese of Trent abolishing the cultus.

Later scientific and historical studies validated doubts regarding both the historicity of her person and the authenticity of her relics.
