In
response to numerous requests from our visitors, the members of the Hagiography
Circle have decided to
include models of holiness who died before the nineteenth century. However, the
individuals or groups listed in the following links would fall under one of the
following four
categories:
-
Those who have been declared blessed, or
saint from the beginning of the papacy of Paul VI (June 1963);

Those whose causes have been given a nihil obstat by the Congregation of the Causes of Saints since
Divinus
Perfectionis Magister was promulgated (February 1983);

Those whose beatification or canonization
processes continue to be supported actively by an actor; and,
-
Those who have been declared venerable
since the establishment of the Congregation of Rites in 1594 but still have not been beatified.
