  1. The Memorial of Saint Thomas Aquinas [Tommaso d’Aquino], professed priest of the Order of Preachers and Doctor of the Church. Bestowed with the greatest gifts of the intellect, he transmitted his extraordinary wisdom to others with speeches and writings. Invited by Blessed Pope Gregory X to participate in the Second Ecumenical Council of Lyon, he died on 7 March along the journey to the monastery of Fossanova (Italy). After many years, his body was translated to Toulouse on this day. († 1274)

  2. At the monastery of Réome, in Moutiers-Saint-Jean (France), Saint John, priest. A man submissive to God, he gathered monks under the rule of Saint Macarius. († c. 554)

  3. The commemoration of Saint James, a hermit in Palestine, who for a long time locked himself up in a tomb for penance. († 6th cent.)

  4. In Cuenca (Spain), Saint Julián Ben Tauro, bishop. He was the second bishop of this city, once recovered from the hands of the Muslims. Notable for his way of living, he distinguished himself for distributing the goods of the Church among the poor, working with his hands to obtain his daily sustenance. († c. 1207)

  5. * At the monastery of San Frediano, in Pisa (Italy), Blessed Bartolomeo Aiutamicristo, professed religious of the Camaldolese Order. († 1224)

  6. * In Plévin (France), Blessed Julien Maunoir, professed priest of the Society of Jesus. For forty-two years he entirely dedicated himself to popular missions in towns, villages, and cities of Brittany. († 1683)

  7. In Maokou, in the province of Guizhou (China), the Holy martyrs Agatha Lin Zhao, virgin, Jerome Lu Tingmei and Lawrence Wang Bing, catechists. They were denounced as Christians during the reign of Emperor Wenzong and finally beheaded. († 1858)

  8. In Daijia, in the province of Shandong (China), Saint Josef Freinademetz, professed priest of the Society of the Divine Word, who worked tirelessly for the evangelization of this region. († 1908)

  9. * In Brescia (Italy), Blessed Mosè Tovini, priest and rector of the diocesan seminary who diligently devoted himself to the formation of candidates for the priesthood . († 1930)

  10. * In Picassent (Spain), Blessed María Luisa Montesinos Orduña, young laywoman, who, while the persecution against the faith raged during the Spanish Civil War, participated in the victory of Christ with her martyrdom. († 1937)

  11. * At the forced labor camp in Kharsk (Russia), Blessed Olimpia (Ol’ha) Bida, professed religious of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. She was sentenced to exile by the Soviets, dying as a martyr due to hardship and lack of medical care. († 1952)
