  1. The commemoration of Saint Theophilus, Bishop of Caesarea in Palestine, who, during the reign of Emperor Septimius Severus, was renowned for his wisdom and integrity of life. († 195)

  2. In Pamphylia (now southern Türkiye), Saint Conon, martyr, a gardener who, during the reign of the Emperor Decius, was forced to run in front of a chariot with nails piercing his feet. Falling to his knees, he surrendered his spirit while praying to God. († c. 250)

  3. At the Catacombs of San Callisto on the Appian Way, in Rome (Italy), the burial of Saint Lucius, pope, successor of Saint Cornelius. He was an excellent confessor of the faith, having suffered exile for the Christian faith and faced the difficulties of his time with admirable moderation and prudence. († 254)

  4. In Sinope in Pontus (now Sinop, Türkiye), Saint Phocas, martyr, a gardener who suffered many torments for the sake of the Redeemer’s name. († c. 4th cent.)

  5. In Caesarea in Palestine (now Keisarya, Israel), Saint Adrian, martyr. During the persecution of Emperor Diocletian, by command of the prefect Firmilian, on the day when the inhabitants of the city celebrated the feast of the goddess Fortuna of Caesarea, he was first thrown to a lion and then beheaded with a sword because of his faith in Christ. († 309)

  6. By the Jordan River (Palestine), Saint Gerasimus, anchorite during the reign of Emperor Zeno. Led back to the true faith by Saint Euthymius, he practiced great works of penance and offered an irreproachable model of discipline and life to all those who undertook the monastic life under his direction. († 475)

  7. * In Saighir (Ireland), Saint Kieran (or Ciarán), bishop and abbot. († 530)

  8. * In Arles (France), Saint Virgil, bishop, who hosted Saint Augustine and the monks who were sent by Pope Saint Gregory the Great to England. († c. 618)

  9. * In Vigevano (Italy), Blessed Cristoforo Macassoli, professed priest of the Order of Minors, renowned for his preaching and charity towards the poor. († 1485)

  10. * In Naples (Italy), Blessed Geremia (Ion) Kostist from Wallachia, professed religious of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin, who for forty years uninterruptedly aided the sick with great charity and joy. († 1625)

  11. Also in Naples (Italy), Saint Giovan Giuseppe (Carlo Gaetano) Calosinto, professed priest of the Order of Friars Minor, who, following the example of Saint Pedro de Alcantara, restored the discipline of the Rule in many convents of the Order’s Neapolitan Province. († 1734)
