The Solemnity of Saint Joseph,
husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a just man, born
of the lineage of David. He acted as a father to the
Son of God Jesus Christ, who wanted to be called the
son of Joseph and be subjected to him as a son to
his father. The Church venerates him with special
honor as patron, placed by the Lord as custodian of
his family

Isnardo from Chiampo, professed priest of the
Order of Preachers, who founded a convent of his

Andrea Gallerani, who visited and consoled
the sick and afflicted with care. He gathered the
Brothers of Mercy, laypersons without vows, who
would serve the poor and the sick. († 1251)

Giovanni Buralli from Parma, professed priest
of the Order of Minors, whom Pope Innocent IV sent
as a legate to the Greeks to attempt the
reestablishment of their communion with the Latins.

Sibillina Biscossi, virgin, who, being blind
since the age of twelve, lived for sixty-five years
in the cloister at the church of the Order of
Preachers, illuminating with her interior light many
who came to her. († 1367)

Marco de Marchio from Montegallo, professed
priest of the Order of Minors, who created the work
called Monte di Pietà to meet the needs of the poor.

Trilla Lastra), professed religious of the
Brothers of the Christian Schools and martyr, who,
during the persecution against the Church, was
killed out of hatred for the faith. († 1936)

* At the Dachau concentration camp, in Oberbayern
(Germany), Blessed Narcyz (Jan)
Turchan, professed priest of the Order of
Friars Minor and martyr. Polish by origin, he was
oppressed by the nefarious Nazi regime and deported
for his faith to this camp where he died under
torture. († 1942)

* At the Mauthausen concentration camp (Austria),
Blessed Marcel Callo,
martyr. A young man from Rennes (France), he was
killed for comforting with a Christian spirit fellow
war prisoners who were exhausted by forced labor. (†
