  1. In Argol (now Ahvaz, Iran), Saint Benjamin, a deacon, who, for persisting in preaching the word of God, during the reign of Bahram V, was tortured with sharp reeds driven into his nails, and consummated his martyrdom. († c. 420)

  2. In Rome (Italy), the commemoration of Saint Balbina, whose basilica on the Aventine Hill bears witness to the veneration of her name. († a. 595)

  3. * In Köln (Germany), Saint Agilulf, bishop, celebrated for his preaching and holiness of life. († 751/752)

  4. * In Borgo San Donino (Italy), Saint Guido, abbot of the monastery of Pomposa, who, after having received many disciples and built sacred buildings, consecrated himself entirely to prayer, contemplation, and divine worship, and wanted to live in the wilderness to concentrate only on God. († 1046)

  5. * In Toulouse (France), Blessed Jeanne, virgin of the Order of Carmel. († 14th century)

  6. * In Udine (Italy), Blessed Bonaventure of Forlì, a priest of the Order of the Servants of Mary, who, preaching in various regions of Italy, exhorted the people to penance and died in his eighties during a Lenten sermon. († 1491)

  7. * In Carlisle (England), the commemoration of Blessed Christopher Robinson, priest and martyr, who witnessed the martyrdom of Saint John Boste and, sometime later, during the reign of Elizabeth I, he too, led to the gallows on an unknown day, also out of hatred for the priesthood, received the crown of glory. († 1597)

  8. * At the Ravensbrück concentration camp, in Fürstenberg (Germany), Blessed Natalia Tułasiewicz, martyr, who, during the military occupation of Poland, her homeland, after being locked up in a concentration camp by followers of a nefarious doctrine hostile to human dignity and faith, gave up her soul to the Lord in a gas chamber. († 1945)
